By Rob Quijano: ––– Earlier today, I drove to the Felix Pagan Pintor Boxing Gym in Guaynabo Puerto Rico for the Red Carpet Promotions Open Media Workout with Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano and Enrique “Kikin” Collazo. The workout was to promote the “Latin Fury” fight card on April 22nd at the Coliseo Ruben Zayas Montañez in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico. Red Carpet Promotions is promoting the card with DiBella Entertainment.
Once Collazo completed several rounds in the ring, I began my interview with him. The interview was conducted in Spanish and this is the translation. I mentioned that I was here with Enrique Kikin Collazo, one of the “Fantastic Five” who represented Puerto Rico in the 2012 Olympics. I asked Collazo, how he felt to be fighting for a title in only his 10th fight. Collazo responded, “I’m real happy. Thanks to Red Carpet for the opportunity. I’ll be ranked among the best in the world. I think I’m ranked 15th now. I’m happy. The job’s been done…now I’m just waiting for the bell to ring to get the job done that we have to do and capture that title for me and Puerto Rico.”
I asked Collazo if it was easy for him the make the middleweight limit and he stated, “Yes it was. I get there easy. In the beginning I was fighting at 165, 164 where no titles were at stake and I thought I would have to sacrifice a little but no. My trainer has helped a lot with me. We’ve made the weight. Right now I’m at 166. Six pounds and we still have more than a week. Yesterday I was at 164. We’re good.”

“Latin Fury” will have 10 action packed fights and the night will be a tribute to former champion Jose Carita Lopez.
